PMI Colleges ordered to close 2 programs

MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has ordered the PMI Colleges in Manila and Quezon City to stop offering two of its programs following a re-audit conducted by the commission, in coordination with the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA).
CHED chair Patricia Licuanan said the PMI Colleges (formerly Philippine Maritime Institute) failed to comply with the standards set by the 1978 International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW).
